Now that Reddit makes me log in, it's become basically useless for me since once I click on one subreddit the homepage is filled with nothing but that subreddit (and some "related" ones that are not that related).

it’s time to take the bitter pill

I found this problem that I wrote 7 years ago. I originally solved it in a silly way, and was surprised by how magically the numbers worked out. Then I solved it in the intended obvious way and realized I was being silly. Also, I think the answer extraction is cute: it looks bad but it turns out to be decent.

given the GitHub actions fiasco, maybe it’s time to migrate this website…

I’m surprised by people who still make slideshows by showing all the text at once rather than doing the beamer-like process of revealing text one at a time. I just find it more engaging and also easier for the speaker to not have to constantly remember where they were.

I'm surprised when people still say, "I don't like going to school (university) because I have to learn a bunch of useless things." Have you ever been to work?
